Privacy Policy
Your data stays with you. Miki keeps everything on your iPhone and in your own private iCloud. We can't see it.
There is no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.
What Miki saves
Miki saves one file on your iPhone. It holds the things you do in the app:
- Your goal, your habits and the habits you've logged.
- Focus sessions you've started and finished.
- Your pet, its name, its outfits and its album.
- Your answers to the questions you saw when you first set up Miki.
- Moods, "one good thing" notes and breathing sessions, if you use them.
- One trusted person's name and phone number, if you choose to add one.
- A few Screen Time notes, explained below.
Miki's widgets and Screen Time helpers read this same file on your iPhone. Nothing about it is sent to us.
Your iCloud backup
If you're signed in to iCloud, Miki backs up that file to your private iCloud database. Only your Apple Account can open it. We can't read it.
The backup is updated a few seconds after you make a change, and when you leave the app. If you're not signed in to iCloud, Miki works normally and simply doesn't back up.
When you install Miki on a new iPhone, it asks before restoring. It never replaces what's on your phone without asking.
Screen Time
Miki uses Apple's Screen Time tools to lock apps during a session and to notice time spent in apps you choose. You give permission once, and you can turn it off in iOS Settings.
- The apps you pick stay on your iPhone. Apple gives Miki a private code for each app, not its name. That list is stored only on this iPhone and is not in your iCloud backup.
- Miki does keep a few simple notes: how many minutes you spent in your picked apps today, and which nights you used them after 9pm. These notes are part of your saved file, so they are in your iCloud backup too.
Steps
If you allow Motion & Fitness, Miki reads today's step count from your iPhone to show your walking progress. It does not save your step count.
Someone you trust
You can add one person to call or text when you need support. You pick them with Apple's contact picker. Miki never sees your other contacts and doesn't ask for Contacts access.
Only that person's name and one phone number are saved, in your file and your iCloud backup. Miki never contacts them on its own. Your Phone or Messages app opens only when you tap Call or Text.
Notifications
Miki's reminders are made on your iPhone. That includes habit nudges, the wind-down reminder and the note before a free trial ends. No notification is sent from a server.
Subscriptions
Apple handles all payments. We never see your card or your billing details. Miki only checks with the App Store whether your subscription is active.
What Miki doesn't do
- No sign-up or account.
- No ads.
- No analytics, crash reporting or tracking tools.
- No selling or sharing of your data.
- No servers of our own. The only online services Miki uses are Apple's iCloud and the App Store.
Some buttons open a website or app when you tap them. For example, "Find a helpline near you" opens findahelpline.com. Those services have their own privacy policies.
Deleting your data
- On your iPhone: delete the Miki app. Its saved file and app list go with it.
- In iCloud: open Settings, tap your name, then iCloud. Manage your storage, find Miki and delete its data.
- Your trusted person: this is part of your saved file, so the steps above remove it.
Changes to this policy
If Miki starts handling data differently, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
